Mar 08, 2013

Student artists, including home-schooled students, in grades K-12 living within the Edmonds School District are invited to submit their art for consideration in the Student Exhibit of the Edmonds Arts Festival.

Open Class entries will be received and photographed at the Edmonds School District Office, located at 20420 68th Ave. W. in Lynnwood, on May 2 and 3.

Guidelines for entry are posted on the Student Exhibit page at

Open Class entries will be juried by two professional artists and results will be sent out the third week of May.

Artwork will be judged on the following criteria: originality, technique, composition, risk-taking, and craftsmanship.

Mediums include oil, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastel, ink, crayon, print work, textiles, clay, fused glass, photography, and recycled materials.

The top twenty artists will each receive a $50 award and a graduating senior artist will receive the Pederson Family Award for Excellence in Community Service.

The Exhibit will take place on Father’s Day weekend, June 14 - 16, at the Frances Anderson Center in Edmonds.

This Exhibit is proudly sponsored by the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation, which provides students in the Edmonds School District with generous grants and scholarships.

Much of the work on display at the Student Exhibit will be a direct reflection of this support and investment in art education.

Open Class submissions of artwork for the 2013 Student Exhibit at the Edmonds Arts Festival are due May 3 at the Edmonds School District Office.
