Call 911 to report people walking on the tracks | Letter

May 12, 2016

Editor, The Beacon:

After the unfortunate accident on the tracks a few weeks ago, I feel compelled to write and gain some information.

I walk Sunset Avenue every day and have on more than one occasion seen individuals walking on the tracks. There are signs posted all along, but these people choose to ignore them.

What I wish you would post in the paper, or Burlington Northern would, is the phone number to immediately report theses morons.

Many people enjoy the beauty of the avenue and would be more than helpful to prevent another incident.

Yours sincerely,

Frances MacDonald,

Sgt. Shane Hawley of the Edmonds Police Department said the public should contact the department at 425-771-0200 if they’ve spotted someone walking on the railroad tracks. If it is in progress, call 911. -Ed.
