Seattle-based Blokable, whose “Bloks” are efficiency dwelling units manufactured using steel-frame construction in Vancouver, Washington, installed the first of its units on Friday, June 29, in Edmonds.

It was placed on the grounds of Edmonds Lutheran Church.

Edmonds was the first city selected for the company’s homes. Edmonds Lutheran Church and Compass Housing Alliance partnered to introduce the three-phase, multi-story housing development for low-income individuals and couples.

A second community meeting on the project is 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the church, 23525 84th Ave. W.

A tour of the unit follows.
