Attorney General Bob Ferguson to speak in Edmonds

Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson is the guest speaker at a special lunch meeting of the Edmonds Rotary 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the Edmonds Theater, 415 Main St.

“As the state’s chief legal officer, Ferguson’s job is committed to protecting the people of Washington against powerful interests that don’t play by the rules,” the Rotary Club said in a press release.

Ferguson is a fourth-generation Washingtonian, a graduate of the University of Washington and of New York University law school.

Ferguson and his wife, Colleen, are the parents of 10-year-old twins, Jack and Katie.

Also on hand will be Rotary District 5030 Gov. Alan Merry.

Prior to becoming district governor, Merry served in a variety of leadership positions, including club president for the Lake Forest Club – where he also earned Club Rotarian of the Year in 2014.

Registration is required by midnight on Monday, Oct. 1.

General admission is free, but donations to the Rotary’s local scholarship fund can be made at the door.

Box lunches are available for purchase, but must be ordered/purchased online for $20 by midnight Thursday, Sept. 27.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.
