Edmonds Arts Commission’s newest commissioner, Ashley Song, is an Edmonds resident and a King County Council legislative aide who says she has a passion for historic preservation, art history, graphic design and photography.

Song said she is looking forward to working on implementing the new Creative District program, as well as all the other commission programs.

The Arts Commission is made up of seven members who serve staggered, four-year terms. By ordinance, four of these positions must be filled by people professionally engaged in the arts.

Song was selected from a group of applicants for one of the four general positions on the commission. Applicants are recommended by a nominating committee, interviewed by Mayor Dave Earling and approved by City Council.
