5 Corners roundabout a proactive move

May 08, 2014

Enough negative comments have been made regarding the Five Corners roundabout.

As someone who drives through that intersection almost daily, I welcome any effort to reduce traffic congestion, before it becomes worse.

Of course, change is difficult and there will be a learning curve for those who don't understand how to use roundabouts, but I've seen firsthand how they've reduced congestion in Europe.

It was the naysayers with little foresight who voted down mass transit for Seattle decades ago, when it could have been implemented for a fraction of what it's costing today.

As a result, we have to live with that traffic. Let's be a bit more proactive and not repeat history.
