December 1, 2012 marks the 41st anniversary of The Wooden Spoon Kitchen Shop in downtown Edmonds.

Our business was started in 1971 on Main Street by Cheryl Larabee and Barbara Sanborn, and although the idea of a “kitchen shop” was unheard of at the time, with the incredible help of the community Barb and Cheryl’s dream was realized.

Mrs. Sanborn retired in the mid 1980’s and Cheryl (our mom) continued running the store, moving it to our current location around 23 years ago.  Cheryl passed away in 2008, but her family has carried on the legacy.

As we enter our 41st year and look forward to many more years of business, we would like to thank the wonderful customers who have made it all possible.

Shopping locally and supporting the retailers, restaurants and service providers in Edmonds really does make a difference, and we all appreciate it very much.

On behalf of our family we wish you all an excellent holiday season.
