William Lewis serves as page in state SenateLewis follows in the footsteps of his brother, who was also a page
Last week, St. Mary Magdalen student William Lewis participated in the Senate Page Program in Olympia.
Lewis was sponsored by Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, of Bothell. “The page program is such a great opportunity for students like William to experience how government works,” McAuliffe said, “They learn about issues and see all the work that goes into each session. I am glad William enjoyed his week in Olympia.”
Lewis follows in the footsteps of his brother, who was also a page, but is no stranger to politics.
He was elected to be the School Commissioner for Activities at his school, a group which comes up with ways to ensure a more fun and engaged learning environment.
It is no wonder he took to the mock hearing in page school as well, and enjoyed writing a bill and debating it, just as legislators do.
In addition to his Commissioner post, Lewis, 14, also plays baseball, football, is an alter server and violinist.
