Wight’s closing in Lynnwood; Senior Services may move in

Wight’s Home & Garden, a staple on 196th Street SW in Lynnwood for decades, is for sale.

The announcement of a new owner is expected soon, but Senior Services of Snohomish County

CEO Steve McGraw confirmed that his nonprofit is close to making a deal for the property.

“We have three locations now, and we’re trying to find a location where we can all be under one roof,” McGraw said. The current office is on Airport Way in Everett. “We have a lot of clients in south Snohomish County, so this would be a great location for us.”

Senior Services provides a number of services, including programs in food and nutrition, health and wellness, social services and home repair. In addition, it contracts with Community Transit on Dial-A-Ride, which assists seniors with transportation needs.

Senior Services has more than 180 employees, half of whom drive buses.
