Violent robbery at Highway 99 motel ends with shots fired
No one was injured after a shooting Sunday, March 5, on Highway 99 in Edmonds.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 220th Street SW and Highway 99. Initial reports came from a condominium complex east of Andy’s Motel in the 22200 block of Highway 99.
Arriving officers found witnesses at the motel, along with multiple shell casings and an area where bullets appeared to have struck the building.
Police say no one came forward to say that they were directly involved in the incident.
Nearly an hour later, officers were able to locate a 42-year-old male from Seattle who said that four people robbed him of his cell phone and cash while all were in a room. He knew at least one of the people, police say, but he did not want to cooperative with officers or detectives.
Police say the suspects fled in a larger black SUV. They may have included one white female, one white male, one Asian or Pacific Islander male and another possibly Hispanic male.
