Turns out it wasn’t a coal train

Your guestview ( July 26, page 3 ) has some explaining to do regarding his daily.sightline.org "fact."

Last week, photos of a BNSF Railway train spewing what the photographer took to be coal dust near Horsethief Lake in Washington ( Columbia river ) generated online buzz.

"Turns out it wasn't a coal train," BNSF spokeswoman Suann Lundsberg said. “The railroad didn't have any coal trains running past that spot at the time."
