The green altar

Editor:

Can you imagine a letter from the greens of Edmonds based upon facts and truths?

One truth is that China does not give a tinkers damn about Edmond's eco fascists.

A fact is this:  China will burn more coal for energy.

The choice is between cleaner coal from America's Powder River basin or high sulfur content coal from other countries, or China.

Can you imagine the Puget sound free from hundreds of PCB, pesticide, volatile organics and metal point sources of pollution identified by the EPA?

The failing septic systems that exist along the sound's perimeter?  And still, their only protest is for 'coal dust' that these same greens cannot demonstrate.

The Sierra club continues to offer an illusion on energy, based upon the failed agenda of 'global warming'.

The local greens bow down at this altar.

Once again,Mr. Keeler attempts to make his point by calling people with opposing views names, and touting a long list of generalized assertions which get farther and farther off topic as he progresses.

Yes, Mr, Keeler, I can "imagine" environmentalists using facts and truths.  They have often do so in these pages.  It is harder, though, to imagine anti-environmentalists refraining from name-calling, ranting, half-truths and broad generalizations.

I can also imagine Puget Sound free from PCB, pesticides, etc.  What is your point?  Do you have some plan to bring this to fruition?  We would all like to see a cleaner, healthier Puget Sound, and I am certain that you share this ideal.  Please let us know how you can help us accomplish this.

Coal trains are the topic of the moment.  Many of us are opposed to them, for multiple reasons, and with a little more attention to the debate, one finds that the "greens," including those nasty Sierra Club folks, have not limited their protests to coal dust alone, as Mr. Keeler asserts, and that the majority of scientists not only endorse theories of global climate change, but now predict that it is happening faster, and to a greater degree, than originally thought - though how Mr. Keeler leaps from the current topic (ie: coal trans) to what he dismisses as the "failed agenda" or what nobody any longer calls "global warming."

But then, as an environmentally concerned citizen, I am also one of those whom Mr. Keeler dismisses, branding us "eco fascists" - the same group have have brought you cleaner air and cleaner water and a healthier environment.
