Teen girl assaulted at Edmonds party
A 16-year-old girl was transported to Swedish/Edmonds on Aug. 12 after being physically assaulted at an Edmonds party.
“Investigation to this point has led officers and detectives to believe that this was a juvenile party that had gotten out of control,” said Sergeant Josh McClure of the Edmonds Police Department.
Officers responded to a report of a disturbance in the 8400 block of 191st St. S.W. around 1:15 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a female outside of their residence asking for help.
Officers at the scene determined the girl had been physically assaulted, and had also sustained an injury to the back of her neck. She was transported to Swedish/Edmonds with non-life threatening injuries.
Several witnesses and the victim reported hearing a gunshot during the disturbance.
“Investigators are working to determine the cause of all injuries to the victim and whether a gun was used,” McClure said. “A search of the area and any residences that are determined to be involved will be part of the subsequent investigation.”
No arrests have been made at this time.
The victim had been reported as a runaway from Everett, and the police have notified her parents.
