Take the confusion out of drip irrigation systems
The hot weather has finally arrived, which for many means dragging hoses and sprinklers around the yard and skyrocketing water bills, but a drip irrigation system can change all that.
Unfortunately, the technology and choices appear intimidating, but a couple of hours with Master Gardener and drip irrigation expert Jeff Thompson can change that.
His Drip Irrigation workshop will be offered Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. each of those dates by WSU-Snohomish County Extension at their South Everett site in McCollum Park, 600 – 128th St. SE.
The cost is only $20, or $25 for a couple sharing materials, and includes an extensive reference handout.
To register call Karie Christensen at 425-357-6039 or download the brochure at http://snohomish.wsu.edu/garden/workshops/DripIrrigation2012.pdf.
The two-and-a-half hour hands-on workshop is designed to make a novice comfortable with all aspects of designing and implementing a low volume irrigation system for the home gardener.
It will include parts to use, where to get them, and most importantly, how not to waste resources by purchasing the wrong equipment.
