State auditor gives Edmonds clean audit
The City of Edmonds received a clean audit after a state review of its financial statements.
The report gives the City an unmodified opinion on its 2012 financial statements, meaning those financial statements are presented fairly in all material respects.
The state auditor also confirmed that the City is in compliance with federal guidelines in the management of its major federally funded programs.
The report goes on to say that there were no significant deficiencies in the design or operation of internal control in the area of financial reporting or in Edmonds’ major federal programs.
The report was issued Monday, Sept. 23, by the office of State Auditor Troy Kelley and covers the period from Jan. 1, 2012 through Dec. 31, 2012.
Mayor Dave Earling said he was pleased with the clean audit.
“We take great pride in the on-going quality work of our Finance Department,” Earling said.
