Stevens Pass Ski Patrol was first on scene to render aid to the injured back-country skier who was outside the Stevens Pass Ski Area boundaries.  The skier sustained serious injuries after losing a ski and falling approximately 100 yards.

One Helicopter Rescue Technician was lowered by the rescue hoist to a spot near the subject.

Ski Patrol had the subject strapped to a back-board.  The Ski Patrol assisted the Helicopter Rescue Technician with preparing the subject for a hoist rescue.  Once on-board “SnoHawk 10” the subject was flown to Providence Hospital in Everett.
