Shorewood beats Meadowdale 5-2 | Boys prep tennis

The Shorewood boys tennis team beat Meadowdale on Monday, Oct. 14 in a 3A South league match.

In singles matches, Meadowdale’s Nick Ekern beat Cameron McDowell 6-4, 6-3, while Bret Matysik lost 6-3, 6-3 to Jamie Wright. Grayson Cox lost to Loan Keebler 6-0, 6-0 and Lee Bruemmer lost 6-2, 6-1 to Ale Uvence.

In doubles matches, Quint Turner and Mark Steinke lost 6-4, 6-0 to Stu and Scott (no last names gives), while Justin Ridley and Bennett Holton beat Sim Formash and Cameron Harford 6-0, 6-0. Shorewood’s AJ Barth and Eli Hecken beat Jacob O’Connell and Ephrem Yared 6-3, 6-4.

The team will wrap up the regular season this week with a match on Tuesday, Oct. 15 against Shorecrest at 3:30 p.m., followed by playing at Glacier Peak on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and a final home match against Everett on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The post season will begin Oct. 22 with the 3A south division tournament at Glacier Peak High School.
