Shed that Deluxe burger during Dick’s walkathon for charity

Oct 07, 2016

The Dick's Drive-In Round Up for Charity, a walkathon, begins 10:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Edmonds Dick’s at 21910 Highway 99.

Lars Phillips began the event six years ago with a friend. Their idea: to walk to every Dick’s Drive-In in a single day. The fundraiser has grown every year, Phllips said.

To support the event, Dick's and Seattle processing company Gravity Payments have agreed to match up to $5,000 raised, meaning the event could raise $15,000 in one day for local homeless organizations such as Cocoon House, Mary's Place and Fare Start, among others.

Local celebrities, including Seahawks third-round draft pick C.J. Prosise, will be leading separate legs of the event.
