Save the date for the 2014 Chamber Arts Awards
The first Chamber Arts Awards were presented in March 2013 by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce Arts & Culture Committee.
Committee Chair Jack Loos recently announced the date for the 2014 Awards. Mark your calendars to attend the Arts Awards event at the Edmonds Conference Center at 8 p.m. March 20, 2014, following the Third Thursday Art Walk, to celebrate the awardees.
The 2013 recipients were Barbara Kindness for Individual Volunteer, MaJe Gallery for Business Leadership, and Mike Popke of Lynnwood Honda for Individual Leadership, and Rick Steves and Europe through the Back Door, Cascade Symphony Orchestra, KCTS, and Edmonds Center for the Arts for the Creative Collaboration Award.
The Committee has set the date and it is now time for the community to start thinking about who they want to nominate for the four awards.
Is there a volunteer you can think of who has played a vital role in supporting and sustaining arts and culture in Edmonds?
Does a creative collaboration come to mind that combined resources and organizations in a successful program or event?
Many individuals from local businesses or organizations have provided leadership in fostering partnerships between arts and business, and there may be one exceptional individual you want to nominate.
The support of arts and culture by area businesses and cultural organizations is key to the vibrant arts community in Edmonds – which business or organization will you nominate?
Nomination forms are available on the Chamber website www.edmondswa.com/awards for online submission, and at the Chamber office, 121 5th Ave N. Deadline for nominations is Feb. 18.
