Saundra L. Rousseau

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Saundra L. Rousseau, a long-time resident of Edmonds, Washington, passed away on October 28, 2012.

Saundra was born on April 24, 1940, in Logan, Utah, to parents Lyman and Vera Bench.  She graduated from Lincoln High School of Seattle in 1958. Shortly thereafter she began a career in the architectural, engineering, surveying and construction equipment and supply business; first, at Dieterich-Post and then, in 1977, along with her husband Gary, purchased Kuker-Ranken.  They successfully ran Kuker-Ranken for 28 years until they sold the business in January 2005 and retired.

Saundra married her love, Gary Rousseau, on February 5, 1964, and they remained devoted to each other and by each other’s side until her passing.

Saundra is survived by her husband, Gary Rousseau, her daughters, Lori Golka (husband Mike) and Dori Cooke (husband Craig), stepdaughter, Julie Leptich (husband John), and five grandchildren, Kelsi Golka, Chase Golka, Nicholas Cooke, Jessica Leptich, and Janae Leptich.  Saundra was predeceased by her parents, her sister Kathy Bench, and her stepson Gary Rousseau, Jr.

Saundra was a loving and giving person, who lived a full life and loved and appreciated every minute she spent with her family.  She will be long remembered for her love of music, lip-syncing with her daughters, bingo, movies, and always being the life of any event.  She will be missed tremendously by her family and by those that were touched by her throughout her life.

She was laid to rest next to her parents and sister Kathy in the Evergreen Washelli Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
