Rick Steves’ to lecture on Holy Land: Israelis and Palestinians Today
Travel guru Rick Steves looked at the serious as well as the wondrous during a month visiting the Holy Land.
You’re invited to join Steves as he reports on his experience scouting and filming in Israel and Palestine for his upcoming 2014 Holy Land public TV special.
He’ll be showing slides and lecturing about his experiences during a free presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 4th Ave. N Edmonds.
Sign up to attend the lecture at http://www.ricksteves.com/news/classes/special-event.htm (Registration required).
Viewers have the option of watching a live Webcast if they can’t attend the lecture in person: http://www.ricksteves.com/news/classes/holy-land.htm (No registration required).
You'll follow him as he connects with students at Palestinian universities, visits with Zionist settlers whose claim to the land goes back to Biblical times, bobs like a cork in the Dead Sea, roasts coffee with Bedouin nomads, and walks in the footsteps of the fascinating spectrum of people who call this region home and struggle to share it peacefully.
While there are no easy answers to the complex challenges of the Holy Land, with this entertaining evening, Steves shares vivid insights in a land that a third of humanity considers holy.
