Bob Jones served as director/pianist for the Sound Singers of Edmonds for more than 12 years. His involvement in the Edmonds Senior Center extended beyond that, however. He was also the board president.

His passing on March 13 left many at the center deeply affected. They gathered the afternoon of March 26 to remember their friend and leader.

Pastor Phil Assink of Faith Community Church was there to lead prayer, and other Senior Center leaders spoke, but mainly they sang songs and told stories.

Jones was described as a friend to everyone, but also to the center.

“He was precious,” one said. “He wanted us to sing from our hearts.”

“He was always so gracious and kind.” That’s what they all said. So they sang in his memory.
