Quiet zone is a good idea
Several years back I was involved with a committee studying the possibility of a quiet zone near the trains.
I thought it was a great idea and was sorry when it appeared to be dropped.
Based on my experience, I think the city should encourage it. We live over 11 blocks from the water, and sometimes it sounds like the train is in our backyard.
Our son looked at condos near the water and thought the train noise was a definite negative factor. Visitors who stayed near the water complained about the noise.
I hope we don't pass up the chance to lower the sound level in Edmonds. There are safe ways to do it. Let's help our city improve.
