Police investigate attempted abduction
Edmonds Police detectives are investigating an attempted abduction of two 12-year-old boys that occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 15.
According to police, the boys had left the McDonald’s Restaurant in the 10100 block of Edmonds Way and were walking south up the 23100 block of 102nd Place heading to and through the Scriber High School, Old Edmonds High School, when they were approached by a male and female.
The couple was driving a dark gray or silver Volvo SUV with roof rails on it.
One of the boys said that the car drove right up next to him when the female passenger asked where the boys lived. The boy said far from here.
The female then said that they could give them a ride home. The male then told the boy in a firm demanding voice, “Get in the car.”
It was then that the boy started running away, grabbing his friend and telling him to run.
The boys ran onto the Scriber High School property, jumping over a gate then a fence to get away. The boys then noticed that the car was gone, police said.
The driver was described as a white male in his 30s with short, dark colored, wavy hair containing hair product, short, stocky build, wearing a dark-colored shirt.
The female passenger was described as a white female also in her 30s, dark, medium length hair, just below the shoulders, put in a ponytail, wearing an un-described dress.
