At the most recent City of Edmonds Sister City Commission meeting, it was determined that the next student delegation will head to Hekinan, Japan in July 2014.

With the student age range of participants being 14-18, the invitation is extended to 8th graders who will be age 14 by the summer of 2014, as well as to high school students.

This year will mark the 25th anniversary year of the Edmonds-Hekinan Sister City relationship. Hekinan plans to send an adult delegation to Edmonds the final week of October.

Applicants must be a resident of Edmonds and have a strong interest in Japan.

Duties will include attending meetings on the fourth Monday evening of the month, assisting with events around the Mayor’s Delegation to Hekinan, and special projects throughout the year.
