Pearl E. Lande Arellano: 1921-2016
Our dear mother, Pearl, was with her family when she passed away very peacefully in her home on Friday Sept. 9, 2016, at the age of 94. She was an amazing Mom to daughters Susan (Ludie) and Trish (Patty) and son Mick (Michael), and a wonderful grandmother to Susan's daughter, Genna, and Mick's daughter, Zoe.
Our beautiful Mom touched so many people with her joy and laughter in her long amazing life. She was born Oct. 13, 1921, in North Dakota. She moved to Everett, Washington, with her family, the Landes, when she was a little girl. Pearl attended Everett High School and attended many high school reunions for over 50 years!
Pearl, along with her mom Sina, father Halvor and her five sisters and her brother, were very musical. Our home was filled with music and love. Mom loved singing her whole life. Pearl married our dad, A. Jay Arellano, in 1945, and they enjoyed nearly 50 wonderful years together until Dad passed away in December 1994.
A. Jay was an excellent pianist, and he often accompanied Mom and her family in many of their musical events. They both sang in the choir at our church, Esperance Baptist in Edmonds.
Pearl's faith was very important to her. She loved Jesus and believed that she would be singing in heaven one day with the other angels, and we know that's true now.
“A mother is a flower plucked from heaven.” We love and miss you, dear Mom.
A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Beck's Tribute Center, 405 Fifth Avenue S in Edmonds, with interment following at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett.
