Edmonds resident and International Innovation Consultant Beverly Emerson, President of Olive Tree Product Development, recently announced, in a meeting of top one percent consultants in the world, the launch of her Pragmatic Innovation Program.

“This program is designed to help companies very quickly find their sweet spot for new product launches,” she said. “ It is the place where inspiration, solid technical platforms, and relevant marketing meet.

“So often we see companies that have created scientific intellectual property without the corresponding understanding of consumer’s desires, or we see companies create smoke and mirrors without having a sustainable technical platform.

“In pragmatic innovation, we leverage company strengths, external partnerships, and a deep understanding of the target consumer, to find the opportunity.”

Emerson has been refining this program over the past three years with global clients.

Recently, Emerson took Mommy’s Bliss, a small, family-owned company, through this process.

In less than four months, the company clearly identified and validated where they could successfully compete head to head against billion dollar companies.  The new items are now sold in food, drug, and mass outlets, outselling forecast.

“Bev’s leadership, creativity, and ability to think out of the box were instrumental in uncovering new white-space opportunities that will significantly add to the incremental volume of our current offerings,” Vice President Mark Will said.

Beverly Emerson is President of Olive Tree Product Development (www.olivetree-pd.com), where she helps leaders achieve significant growth through successful new product innovation.

Both an accomplished CPG marketer and R&D Executive, Emerson integrates consumer insights with technical expertise to achieve maximum market success.

For 25 years, Emerson has focused on new innovation and strategy work for global food, beverage, personal care, and dietary supplement companies.
