Edmonds, WA – With the upswing of interest in edibles in the garden, Edmonds in Bloom has added a competition category for front gardens that feature fruit and vegetables.
This includes herbs like rosemary and thyme as well as vegetables with interesting leaves like rhubarb.
There are many creative ways to include plants that we can eat and cook with.
Interested gardeners can pick up the 2013 entry forms at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds, Bountiful Home, Edmonds Library, Garden Gear, the Log Cabin or go online at www.edmondsinbloom.com. The dates for entering are from now to July 3.
Gardeners in zip codes 98020 and 98026 are eligible. The gardens must be visible from the street or alley. Gardens are judged from July 11-18.
