New band shell coming to Frances Anderson Center
Say goodbye to the old and falling apart band shell at Frances Anderson Center, site of numerous youth productions during the Edmonds Arts Festival over the past few decades, in addition to other events.
Edmonds Parks and Recreation Director Carrie Hite said the band shell – which has been in the city’s capital improvement plan for several years, is deteriorating and the wall separating from the roof.
It’s time for a replacement.
The city has awarded the replacement bid to K-A Construction for a total of $141,420.
Although the Frances Anderson Center itself is on the city’s Register of Historic Homes, the band shell is not, Hite said.
It has no historic significance. Except maybe to some young performers …
