“Reflections on Water” – featuring photography taken by ArtsNow’s “Shoot to Show” class, taught by Ray Pfortner, will show from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Arts Now/Edmonds Conference Center

This is the 4th annual “Shoot to Show” class that has been presented by ArtsNow/uLearn and taught by Ray Pfortner.

The “Shoot to Show” class involves learning by doing, shooting an assignment and learning how to frame, price and hang the results for a juried show.

Professional photographers are born out of the process: several alumni of the class have gone on to have their own solo or small group shows using these skills.

The five students in this class chose the theme of water and took over 5,000 photographs between April 9 and May 9, 2013. Out of this, 75 photographs were submitted to a jury where 25 were selected to be displayed in the gallery.

The collection will be displayed from Monday, June 17 until Friday, Aug 9.

As part of the reception, The Chris Spencer Trio will be providing cool and soothing Jazz tunes for guests to enjoy!

The trio includes Chris Spencer on guitar, Jon Hamar on Bass, and Byron Vannoy on Drums. In addition to being first rate musicians, Hamar and Vannoy are faculty members at Edmonds Community College in the music program.

This is a FREE Event and refreshments will be provided.
