NAMI Support Group starting at North Sound Church
North Sound Church’s Family and Friends Mental Health and Spiritual Support Group meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
This interfaith group meets at North Sound Church located at 4th and Bell across from the Edmonds Conference Center.
This support group is provided by NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness and by North Sound Church. Group meetings are for caregivers and loved ones living with mental illness who wish to share their understanding, experiences, faith and coping skills.
NAMI volunteer leaders are trained to facilitate the meetings. NAMI does not charge for any of their programs. They are a grassroots national organization that supports sharing, healing, spirituality, understanding, and group wisdom.
Another program NAMI offers is a Family to Family 12-week course for caregivers that will be offered this spring. Cost is free. You can learn about mental illness and how to be more effective as a caregiver.
Contact them a day or two before the next meeting so that they can help you with other questions or assist with directions.
