Mural Society honors Changing Times artist
The results are in! The Edmonds Mural Society is pleased to announce Andy Eccleshall, painter of Changing Times, the winner of the 2013 Members Choice Award.
The mural is painted on the wall of Embellished, on 4th Avenue, just north of Main Street.
"It is such an honor to be acknowledged like this," Eccleshall said. "The murals are a really great program."
This marks the second Members Choice Award Eccleshall has received. This year's mural is his third of the Edmonds collection.
"Changing Times is a real feat of mastery," Jeff Stilwell, director of the Edmonds Mural Society, said.
"What Andy achieved in using the vanishing point to capture so much of Edmonds' history in one image is enthralling," he added.
The Members Choice Award is voted on each year by the dues-paying members of the Society.
Past winners have included Cheryl Waale, for her abstracted An Edmonds Kind of Eve, Eccleshall for his landscape The Brothers, and Sue Babcock for her Winter Walk.
The Edmonds Mural Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All murals are raised solely through private donations. Memberships start at $20 a year.
