Meadowdale finishes fourth at Edmonds-Woodway meet | Prep cross country

The Meadowdale boys and girls cross country teams both finished in fourth place during a meet at Edmonds-Woodway on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The boys team earned 86 points, while the girls had 93 overall.

Individually, Dominic Giordano was second in the boys 2.7 mile event, finishing with a time of 16:35, while Chikodi Ezeokeke was fourth in 16:56. Josh Verzola was ninth, followed by Max Fell in 10th place. Brian Primm was 12th, Jonah Grier was 13th, Michael Fishman was 15th and Kevin Mendez finished in 18th place overall.

In the girls event, Alexandria Chang finished in fourth place in 21:29, while Amelia Ball was eighth overall in 22:23. Megan Hoppe followed in ninth place, Megan Fridge was 10th and Hyangsook Kwak was 11th. Emilie Mathiason was 12th, Malia Dagdog was 13th, Jackie Shaw was 14th and Jane Sahabu was 15th.

The Mavericks will host their first home meet of the season against Everett and Stanwood on Thursday, Sept. 26 at Lynndale Park.
