Meadowdale falls to Shorecrest 5-2 | Boys prep tennis

The Meadowdale boys tennis team lost to Shorecrest on Tuesday, Oct. 14 in a 5-2 meet.

Nick Ekern lost 6-2, 7-5 to Nishaant Limaye in the first singles match of the day, while Bret Matysik lost 6-0, 6-0 to Andrew Copsey. Lee Bruemmer lost to Chis Sato 6-1, 6-1 and Anthony Smeester lost 6-0, 7-5 to Nick Shively.

In the doubles matches, Mark Steinke and Quint Turner lost to Nick North and Emahd Khan 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), while Meadowdale’s Bennett Holton and Ephrem Yared beat Dan Wacker and Jon Coon 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Grayson Cox and Jacob O’Connell won the Mavericks second match of the day, beating Davin Hoover and Ryan Graves 6-2, 6-4.

Meadowdale is 7-4 in league this season and 10-4 overall. The team will take on Glacier Peak on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m. and will host Everett on Thursday, Oct. 17 in the final match of the regular season.
