Meadowdale, Edmonds-Woodway compete in Lynnwood | Girls prep swimming
The Meadowdale and Edmonds-Woodway girls swim teams competed against Lynnwood and Shorewood on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Lynnwood Pool.
Meadowdale beat Lynnwood 116-51, while Shorewood beat Edmonds-Woodway 104-66.
Meadowdale’s Smyer, Fay Mitchell, Blodgett and Shaw took second place in the 200 freestyle relay in 2:16.97. In the 200 freestyle event, Meadowdale’s Anna Keane took second place in 1:57.28, while Edmonds-Woodway’s Luci Brock won the 200 individual medley in 2:14.55 and Meadowdale’s Annabella King took second in the race in 2:31.08.
Djenne Dickens won the 50 freestyle race in 25.33 seconds and Maverick Victoria Nguyenle took second in 26.92.
Brock was first in the 100 butterfly race in 1:03.18, and Lene Osterberg was second in 1:12.43. Dickens also earned first place in the 100 freestyle race in 55.79, followed by Meadowdale’s Mitchell in 1:07.59.
Edmonds-Woodway’s Josie McCloughan won the 500 freestyle in 5:54.4, and Keane finished in second place in 5:28.09, while Meadowdale’s Nguyenle, King, Kean and Lundberg took second in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:48.73.
Maverick Alicia Kristjanson was second in the 100 backstroke in 1:16.39, while teammate King was second in 100 breaststroke in 1:17.84.
Edmonds-Woodway’s McCloughan, Brock, Dickens and Epoch were first in the 400 freestyle relay race in 3:57.10 and Meadowdale’s Lundberg, Keane, Nguyenle and King were second in 4:00.76.
Edmonds-Woodway will face off against Meadowdale in a non-league meet on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 2:45 p.m. at the Lynnwood Pool.
