Meadowdale, Edmonds-Woodway boys golfers place in top 50 at state

The Meadowdale boys golf team competed at the 3A state tournament on May 28-29 at Tri-Mountain Golf Course, finishing in the top 50.

Trevor Frisby was the only golf to qualify for the second round on Thursday, finishing with a final score of 160, tied with four other golfers for 34th place. He finished day one at 81 strokes, and hit 79 on day two.

Mavericks teammate Joey Haughney finished day one with an 86, while Nate Glazewski hit 87. Neither qualified for the second day.

In the 4A boys competition, Edmonds-Woodway golfer Dylan Merrill finished in 32nd place overall after a two-day total of 156 at Camas Meadows Golf Course. He shot 76 on the first day, followed by 81 on the second day.

In the 3A girls competition, at Lewis River Golf Course, Morgan Rood shot 100 on the first day, while Annelise Blanchard finished the first day at 105. Neither advanced to the second round.
