Meadowdale downs Mountlake Terrace 37-9 | Prep football

The Meadowdale football team earned it’s third straight league win, beating Mountlake Terrace 37-9 on Friday, Oct. 11.

Meadowdale’s first touchdown of the game came from Malik Braxton, a 29-yard run not long after Mountlake Terrace scored a field goal. The first quarter ended with the Mavericks leading the Hawks 6-3.

Meadowdale scored twice in the second quarter, when Braxton made a 29-yard run, followed by a 70-yard touchdown run. The Hawks also scored once in the second, making it a 20-9 game at halftime for the Mavericks.

After the break, Meadowdale scored 14 points in the third quarter, while holding the Hawks scoreless for 12 minutes. Braxton again scored both touchdowns, the first a 29-yard run and the second off an 11-yard run.

The only points of the fourth quarter came off a Brett Schafter field goal for the Mavericks.

The Mavericks are 3-0 in league this season and 5-1 overall. The team will travel to take on 4A Eastlake on Friday, Oct. 18 in Sammamish.
