Meadowdale downs Edmonds-Woodway 6-1 | Prep boys tennis

The Meadowdale boys tennis team earned a non-league win on Wednesday, Sept. 11 beating Edmonds-Woodway 6-1.

In the singles competition, Nick Ekern beat Max Teer 6-1, 6-1, while Bret Matysik beat Brandon Chen 6-3, 6-1. Grayson Turley of Emdonds-Woodway beat Grayson Cox 6-2, 6-1 and Meadowdale’s Justin Ridley beat Bryan Song 6-2, 7-5.

In the doubles competitions, Mark Steinke and Quint Turner beat Chase Holmes and Riley O’Brien 6-0, 7-6 (7-5), while Lee Bruemmer and Jacob O’Connell beat Connor Santel and Kit Teer 6-3, 6-1. Meadowdale’s Kaung Aye and Jason Yim beat Quinn Evan and Walker Lester 6-4, 6-4.

The Meadowdale team will travel to Stanwood for a 3:30 p.m. match on Friday, Sept. 13. The Edmonds-Woodway team will next play Kamiak at Kamiak at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.
