Meadowdale dominates Inglemoor | Prep football

After last week's close win over Kamiak, the Meadowdale football team put some space on the scoreboard between the Mavericks and their opponent. On Friday, Sept. 13 the Mavericks beat Inglemoor 30-0 in a non-conference match up.

Defense played strong throughout the first quarter on the both sides of the ball, with neither team able to punch it into the end zone. In the second quarter, Meadowdale started to pull away.

Malik Braxton scored the first points of the night on a 25-yard run, but the kick failed and the Mavs led 6-0. Minutes later, Josiah Evans ran down a 78-yard touchdown after blocking Inglemoors attempted field goal. This time the Brett Schafer kick cleared the posts and the Mavericks led 13-0.

In the second half, Schaefer's field goal attempt was good. A little while later, Evans scored again, this time off an interception in the third quarter, returning the ball 26-yards to score. Later in the third, Jerremiah Evans caught a 38-yard bomb from quarterback Phillip Thomas to score the final points of the night.

The Mavericks will play Edmonds-Woodway on Friday, Sept. 20 in a non-conferece match at 8 p.m. at Edmonds Stadium.
