Meadowdale boys sixth, girls ninth at district meet | Prep cross country

The Meadowdale boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Lakewood High School on Saturday, Nov. 2 for the District 1/2 championships.

The Meadowdale boys team finished in sixth place with 183 points, while the girls team finished in ninth place with 260 points.

The top three teams and top 15 individuals earn spots in this Saturday's 3A state championship in Pasco, Wash.

In the boys race, Dominic Giordano qualified for the state meet by finished in ninth place with a time of 17:25.

Chikodi Ezeokeke was 26th in 17:54, Josh Verzola was 36th in 18:26, Max Fell finished in 52nd place in 19:02, Jonah Grier was 60th, and Donovan Plunk was 74th, followed by Brian Primm in 75th place.

In the girls race, Megan Fridge finished in 45th place in 22:59, followed by Alexandria Chang in 52nd, Amelia Ball in 53rd, Emilie Mathiason in 59th, Hyangsook Kwak in 62nd, Malia Dagdag in 64th and Jackie Shaw in 68th.

The 3A state meet will take place at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
