Meadowdale beats Glacier Peak 5-2 | Boys prep tennis

The Meadowdale boys tennis team won a league match over Glacier Peak on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The Mavericks won 5-2.

In the singles matches, Meadowdale’s Nick Ekern beat Patrick Luangrath 6-7 (6-8) 6-4, 6-4, while Bret Matysik beat Tucker Davis 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Grayson Cox lost to Scott Wilson 6-3, 6-1 and Lee Bruemmer beat Kai Duan 6-3, 6-3.

In doubles, Quint Tuner and Mark Steinke beat Ethan Jones and Jack Wygant 6-0, 7-6 (7-3), while Justin Ridley and Bennett Holton beat Andrew Kim and Peter Vizzoni 6-3, 5-7, 6-0. Jacob O’Connell and Anthony Smeester lost to Alec Albrecht and Dylan Peterson 6-2, 6-7 (10-8) and lost the tiebreaker 10-5.

The Mavericks will play Stanwood on Thursday, Sept. 26 in a 3:30 p.m. match at home before taking on Shorewood at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 at Shoreview Park.
