Meadowdale beats Edmonds-Woodway in non-league match | Prep softball

The Meadowdale softball team earned its first win of the season on Tuesday, March 18, beating Edmonds-Woodway at home.

The final score was 13-3 for the Mavericks in five innings.

The score was 4-1 after the first inning for Meadowdale, with the Mavericks adding three more runs in the bottom of the second, third and fourth innings. Edmonds-Woodway scored a run in the top of the second and top of the fourth innings.

The Mavericks scored 13 runs off 15 hits and had no errors, while Edmonds-Woodway had three runs off five hits with no errors.

Meadowdale’s Hailey Costello was 3-4 at bat during the game, with two home runs and a double. Teammates Julia Reuble and Emma Helms also hit doubles during the game, as did Warrior Kelly DeDella.

The Mavericks, now 1-0 this season, will play at Jackson on Thursday, March 20 at 4 p.m. The Warriors, now 0-1 this season, will at Marysville-Getchell on Friday, March 21 at 4 p.m.
