Maverick standout advances to two finals at 3A state championships | Boys swimming

Meadowdale’s Kyle Weis advanced to the finals of two events at the 3A state swimming and diving championships Saturday, Feb. 18, at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

Weis placed third in the 100-yard backstroke in 52.07 seconds and was fourth in the 100 butterfly in 51.47.

Weis and teammates Jack Busby, Casey Barnett and Andreas Quist took seventh in the 200 medley relay in 1:41.57. The same four also placed eighth in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:20.20.

Busby finished 10th in the 100 freestyle in 48.58.
