Man held in alleged kidnapping of Snohomish teen
A homeless man is expected in court on Friday afternoon after he allegedly kidnapped a 14-year-old Snohomish teen on Wednesday.
The man, 60, was booked into Snohomish County Jail Thursday for second degree kidnapping after he was found in Lynnwood with Elizabeth Harwood, 14, who went missing on Wednesday morning.
The man was arrested after being found with Harwood at a grocery store for an outstanding warrant on an unrelated trespassing case.
Harwood, who is developmentally disabled, was riding her bike to a friends house before she went missing.
According to reports from the police, the man met her at a local restaurant, persuaded her to take the bus with him to Lynnwood. She told police he forced her to take pills and threatened to punch her if she didn't comply. They spent Wednesday night at the home of an acquaintance.
Bail has been set at $100,000.
