Letters to the Editor-Shame on county council
Shame on the Snohomish County Council for zoning a church lot in the middle of a residential neighborhood as multifamily.
Not only did they zone it multifamily, but HIGH DENSITY multifamily!
The lot is surrounded by residential homes in a residential neighborhood, no other apartment complexes in sight! Yet now a developer wants in to build almost 100 units, three stories high in this residential neighborhood in Meadowdale.
Now we will have to deal with hundreds and hundreds of cars on our small county road, that doesn’t even have sidewalks or streetlights.
We will also have to deal with parking issues as the developer only wants to plan for 148 parking spots when the apartment units will have between 1-3 bedrooms.
How are we supposed to walk down a street with no sidewalks and cars parked all over?
We will be walking in the street which has a 35 mile per hour speed limit (way too fast)!
The area is already prone to flooding and adding this high impact development will just make the flooding worse.
This lot the developer wants to build on is surrounded by multiple wetlands and has a ton of wildlife living on the lot.
I bet the Snohomish County Council didn’t consider that when it was rezoned.
You can bet that not one of the Snohomish County Council Members lives in this area or this rezoning wouldn’t have occurred.
Shame, shame on you, Snohomish County Council, for turning our neighborhood into a rental neighborhood with all of the problems that come with a high density building!
