Letters of Joy conference to be held at EdCC

Write On Calligraphers, based in Edmonds, will sponsor the 31st Annual Letters Of Joy Conference May 3-4 at Edmonds Community College.

This event is open to the public; registration and detail information can be found on the WOC website: www.writeoncalligraphers.homestead. Com.

Keynote speaker will be internationally known calligrapher and artist Yves Leterme from Belgium. Leterme is noted for his distinctive free gestural lettering and experimental art.

He has been a professional calligrapher since 2000 and is author of Thoughtul Getures: The Calligraphic Art of Yves Leterme. His work can been seen in many collections around the world.

Leterme will present an evening lecture to launch the conference on May 3 at 7 p.m. at WoodWay Hall on the Edmonds CC campus.

He will teach a series of classes during the conference and an intensive workshop May 5-6. Letters of Joy includes classes on calligraphy, bookarts, drawing, etc.

The vendors and calligraphic exhibit are open and free to the public on Saturday May 4 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
