Letter | Edmonds residents prefer Dayton Street Overpass option
Re: “Waterfront access plan expected by November,” Sept. 22: As 40-year residents of Edmonds, avid walkers and frequent visitors to our beautiful waterfront, we feel that the most logical route for access to the area would be the Dayton Street Overpass.
The most important reasons for accessing the waterfront if blocked by passing trains would be for medical emergencies and fires.
This option should also eliminate train-pedestrian fatalities.
We also love to drive to our waterfront restaurants, but would gladly accept the inconvenience of waiting for a train to pass is this proposal is more cost-effective and could be completed in a shorter period of time.
