Learn to play the recorder

May 15, 2014

A new musical group for people who play or are interested in learning to play the recorder is beginning this month at Edmonds Lutheran Church.
The first meeting will take place in the church sanctuary from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 17.

The group will meet for 3-4 Saturdays in a row, initially, so you can learn the basics, to include fingering and breathing.

Afterwards, they will meet every 3rd Saturday and be on their way to be a beginning woodwind ensemble.
For the first meeting, please bring your recorder. They will have a few extra if you don't have one.

Music binders with fingering charts and music will be provided.

If you'd like to buy an affordable and good quality recorder, they recommend a plastic Yamaha soprano (YRS-24B) or alto (YRA-28B). They run about $8 and $27, respectively and are available at local music stores.
Please feel free to email John Bumanglag at jtbsfo@gmail.com if you have any questions.
