Kudos to Edmonds Police Department and many more | Letter

Jul 17, 2014

Editor, The Beacon:

I am an older disabled single person who was trapped in a domestic violence incident on July 2.

The Edmonds Police Department with the help of the following communities, agencies and just good people helped me remove a dangerous man who was sleeping in my yard and threatening me.

This man stole my wedding ring, and the Edmonds Police detective returned it to me on July 7.

I worked in the Bearing Sea for three years to get this ring and was married for 17 years.

I was scared to live in my home and embarrassed of my situation.

I now feel well protected, and encourage others to call for help if they find themselves in a similar situation.

I would like to thank the quick and honest actions of: 911, The Edmonds Police Department and their detectives, our Domestic Violence Program, Mel’s Old Village Pub, Creighton Loans and Music, Snohomish County Jail, my family and friends, my neighbors on Sierra Drive.

I am so thankful to live in the City of Edmonds where our Police Department is doing their job so well.

Sincerely,

Janis Cain

20-Year Resident
