Kristiana Johnson, a 32 year resident of Edmonds, has been elected to the Edmonds City Council to fill the vacancy of Michael Plunkett who recently resigned.
Johnson was immediately sworn in and took a seat on the council during the Tuesday night meeting.
“Edmonds is my hometown,” Johnson said when applying for the position. “It is where I grew up and where I have returned to live.
“Public service has been an important part of my life, both professionally and personally. Now I would like to use my knowledge and experience to make a greater contribution to my community as a decision maker.”
Johnson has 17 years experience on various public boards , commissions and committees. She served for ten years on the Eatontown, NJ Environmental Commission.
She has also served as an appointed member of the Edmonds Planning Board, a liason to the Citizens Economic Development Commission, the Strategic Plan consultant review committee, the Mayor’s 2012 Budget Advisory Committee, the 2009 Citizens’ Levy Review Committee, the Transportation Benefit District- Proposition 1 ballot measure committee, and the Citizen Advisory Transportation Committee 2005-2009.
